Though the final size of their mandate is unclear, the opposition Democratic Party of Japan (DPJ) has won a landslide victory, outsting the Liberal Democratic Party which has held a virtually unbroken grasp on power since the 1950s. Japanese analysts are calling the election the most significant change in power in the nation since World War 2. Continue reading

“Buried within the October 3, 2008 bailout bill was a provision permitting the Fed to pay interest on bank reserves. Within days, the Fed implemented this new power, essentially converting bank reserves into more government debt. Now, any seigniorage that government gains from creating bank reserves will completely vanish or be greatly reduced.” Almost everyone is aware that federal government spending in the United States is scheduled to skyrocket, primarily because of Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. Recent “stimulus” packages have accelerated the process. Only the naively optimistic actually believe that politicians will fully resolve this looming fiscal crisis with some judicious combination of tax hikes and program cuts. Continue reading

BABYLON THE GREAT IS FALLING

GREETINGS,

“The Fall of America

CHAPTER 33

Modern Babylon is Falling

——————————————————————————–

1 We say “modern” when we refer to something comparing it to the past. This name “Babylon” begins in Genesis 10:10 (Bible). In Gen. 10:10 it is spelled “B-a-b-e-l.” But the same name seems to have changed itself into the name Babylon as we come to the most late-day history of this name.

2 Babel (Babylon) — According to the history of Babylon throughout the Bible, Babylon is referred to as something prophesied as having a failure upon her progress and rise.

3 In Psalms 137:18, David prophesies that Babylon was made to be destroyed. We know of nothing other than the devil and his works that was actually made to be destroyed spiritually.

4 The devil was not made to exist forever. This is verified by both the Bible and the Holy Qur’an and by all writers and teachers of scripture. So, here, Babylon seems to refer not only to some town or city, but it also seems to refer to a race or a nation of people.

5 Ancient Babylon, as is known by all of us, was a city under the reign of Nebuchadnezzar and Belshazzar. The fall of Babylon was final. Babylon was never to be rebuilt after her fall. And Babylon was never rebuilt.

6 This points to the same prophecy of the devil and his kingdom in the Revelation of John (Bible) — that Satan and his kingdom would be burnt up and it would never rise again. Continue reading

WILL THE U.S. DEFAULT ON ITS DEBT?SOME THINK SO

“Hummel: The US Will Default On Its Debt

The flood of debt that the US is taking on in its efforts rescue to economy will combine with huge social insurance obligations–Medicare, MedicaidSocial Security–to create an unsustainable level of public indebtedness, economist Jeffrey Rogers Hummel argues in at length here.

Faced with this mountain of debt, policy makers will have just two choices: repudiate the debt or engage in hyper inflation to monetize it, Hummel writes. And faced with that choice the Treasury will likely protect the currency and default on Treasuries. Continue reading

UN Scientist: African Nations Rebelling at ‘measures to use climate change to maintain colonialist master-servant relationship’

Dr. Alexander is featured on page 181 of the 2009 U.S. Senate Report of More Than 700 Dissenting Scientists on Man-Made Global Warming Claims. THE RETURN OF COLONIALISM

By Dr. Will Alexander

There has been mounting resistance of African countries to what they perceive to be measures to use climate change to maintain the colonialist master-servant relationship. They perceive that climate change is intended to suppress the rise to economic competitiveness of the African nations.

Africa is fragmented as a result of historical colonialism. The African countries may find it difficult to speak with one voice but the underlying feeling is very clear. No African country will dare to impose restrictions which they perceive to be limitations on their development imposed by the Western nations. These are two examples that occurred during the past week. Continue reading

U.S. banks face a tsunami of home foreclosures soon, says David Karsbol, chief economist at Saxo Bank.

Homeowners may be faced with no choice and will just stop paying their mortgages, he warns.

“I believe we are about to see a tsunami of foreclosures in the U.S. A lot of homes have been held back because if the banks are foreclosing on them they will have to do a writedown on the mortgages they have on their balance (sheets),” Karsbol told CNBC.

“That’s why they have been reluctant to do so.”

Soon homeowners may be looking around their neighborhoods and realizing that their neighbors have opted to stop paying their mortgages and are living scot free, he said.

“The fact that many homeowners are allowed to stay in their houses without paying on their mortgages begs the question: Why should you pay on your mortgage when your neighbor doesn’t?” Karsbol said. Continue reading
